The National Organization of Women Business Owners, Ventura County Chapter, recognized outstanding local businesswomen at their fourth annual Bravo Awards Lun-cheon on Friday, June 7th at the Hyatt Westlake Plaza. Kim Lamb Gregory, feature reporter for The Ventura County Star and media industry veteran, served as a humorous and distinguished mistress of ceremonies. The Bravo awards were presented to the following:

Woman Business Owner of the Year was awarded to Paula Weiser of Weiser Litho, a full service design and printing firm in Westlake Village. Trailblazer of the Year was presented to Loma Siegel, founder of Bail Resource Center & Career Academy.

Member of the Year was awarded to Krista Knebel, co-owner of AXICOM, a computer networking, service and repair firm.

Youth Advocate of the Year award was given to Paula Phillips, founder of the Dream Fund Outreach, a non-profit organization focusing on the positive development of our youth. Education Advocate of the Year was presented to Carol Donohue, a remarkable Academic Mentor Program Coordinator for the Los Angelas Unified School District.
  Community Advocate of the Year was awareded to Sheri Polak.

The first annual award of Emerging Woman Business Owner went to Zenaida Avelar Mendoza, owner of Nuevo Ink Design, a graphic design and consulting firm.
